Thing to keep in mind, if you're married and filing separately, you either both have to take standard deductions, or you both have to itemize.

At least that used to be the rule, not sure if it still is. And I'm pretty sure only one of you can any children as dependents if filing separately.

good to know. we normally do the standard deduction anyway.

Dont change to make her happy, she married you, not a lump of clay to be molded, stay strong and hold your ground... oh have her plan your meals a week in advance so you dont have to do the what do you want for dinner dance every damn day

The only legal benefit I've found is we can bundle all of our insurance together for a cheaper rate

I can also talk to the doctor for her I guess.

I actually pay more in health insurance now that I'm married for some reason
