Like...everywhere this virus is just mutating and spreading.

I don't know, it feels like something you read about 'in the past', not living breathing history. One day people will say "oh yeah,.the '20s was a crazy time. While there was a global pandemic, there were open threats to politicians, cops decided that while they were being watched by everyone during summer BLM protests that they would just UP the brutality, the world didn't do anything while China openly and brazingly round up a specific ethnic group and put them in labour camps and took over Hong Kong trying to turn it into some We Happy Few nightmare, australia was nearly entirely in flames, and a ton of money made money by seeing how others game the system and playing their own game.

Dank memes will be read by children. Sixth graders will have projects where they colour clown noses on prominent people or tell ghost stories about Old Man Musk living on Mars.

Wonder what the coinage would be. The Sardonic 20s? The Global Green out?

Anyway, I'll have a number four, iced tea to drink. Thank you.

Interesting times are almost never good times.

But yeah, I do this kind of thing a lot. Here we are in this damn polar vortex, all businesses are closed but gas stations and a few others, and I didn't even think of bringing a mask when we finally made the walk to civilization. 'Ah yeah I forgot about that thing that is going on a year of-ya know going"

It'd be less surreal if it wasn't for all these deniers. Fuckin jaw-scratchers.

Memphis TN. We have a mask mandate, people follow it and we're flattening the curve. Anti-maskers have never really been a thing here as deep in the South as we are. People are kind to businesses and we follow the rules best we can. We break them occasionally but it's not crazy hospital levels. Hell I will break them very occasionally and I'm left and science loving af

If you're in a place where people aren't caring there is very little in the way of personal responsibility you can do. Where you live, generally?

I'll go ahead and say we have an uncommon racial disparity; Memphis is one of the largest black majority cities in the country. We are used to working together and have our fair share of problems outside of it. I can only speak to my own experience but it does seem to have a correlation and makes me proud of my town. I have friends across the state that don't have the cooperation we do regardless of similar mandates.
