Current Events > Just watched Devilman Crybaby for the first time

I had always seen the original character design pop up here and there so I was familiar with the character. One day out of curiosity I looked up the plot of the manga to see what it was about and thought it was pretty interesting

I heard the original anime was just a dumbed down monster of the week series and that Crybaby was more faithful to the source material so I went with the latter

And now I'm going to go watch Death Note to cheer myself up

tbh, I liked the first half of the series more than I did the second.

like, it was cool having those characters freestyling in the background and other stuff that gave the series a dark, yet kinda fun, identity.

then everything turned to shit, and I kinda checked out.

Yeah there's definitely a tonal shift around the midway point though I still enjoyed it

Though it's just so fucking bleak

It was amazing and 10x better than the first anime series. Honestly would like for them to adapt Violence Jack even though it wasn't nearly as good as Devilman
