I got a lot of them back in college. if you have a messed up and inconsistent sleep schedule, I think you will get them more often

I used to get it a lot that was the first time in a long time and way worse than usual the kill bill wiggle your big toe thing didnt work thata how i usually break out of it.

I've been experiencing it like once a year or so for as long as I can remember. Can't recall ever hearing a voice during it though.

Throughout the years I've gotten progressively better at recognizing when it's happening, and then gradually 'willing' my body out of its sleeping state. The trick is to just stay calm and focus on the reality of being awake.

I've had it twice and both times were frightening. I couldnt move at all and it felt as if this unseen pressure was on my stomach. It was hard to breathe.

First time was this old demonic looking ghost at the end of my bed. She started to float towards me with her mouth open far too wide for a human. Her eyes were pure black. She got right up into my face and it felt as if she was draining the breath out of me.

Second time, there was this girl that looked like Tomie Kawakami (from Junjo Ito) staring at me and smiling. She looked menacing and again, I couldnt move at all. All I could do was stare at her. I couldnt even close my damn eyes.

Besides all that I actually want to experience it again. It's just so otherworldly to me and unreal, the feeling is insane and terrifying. I know it sounds stupid but maybe it's because I'm just too curious for my own good.

I get it semi regularly.

It's always either something trying to pull my blankets off, drag me off the bed by my feet, or in really extreme cases something grabbing an ankle and picking me up towards the ceiling.

I've woken up from it and had my one leg hit the wall by my bed and that sucked. Like was I actually moving my leg up and out at an absurdly awkward angle for that to happen?

I sure didn't feel like I'd moved at all but my leg hit the wall.... between how real it seemed and the fact I couldn't figure how I would've kicked the wall I ended up turning a light on and reading for a couple hours before I could get back to sleep.

I've never heard any voices though thankfully.

I've had it a few times over the years. A couple times with scary dreams, a couple just waking up paralyzed for a few seconds. After reading up on what sleep paralysis is and what the symptoms are, I've never had a bad experience with it again. In fact the next time it happened, the dream ended with a playful golden retriever rather than a monster.

I've also manually induced it a couple times since I find the experience of being paralyzed kinda fascinating. No hallucinations or anything. Just unable to move. Basically what you do is lay flat on your back with your arms at your side and resist all urges to roll over. Not as easy as it sounds since that urge is actually your body confirming that you're sleeping before shutting down. Plus you might fall asleep for real before it happens.

Conversely, if you want to reduce the chances of sleep paralysis happening, avoid laying on your back. Supposedly your left side is the best position to sleep on in general.

I mean im used to it i used to get i a ton in highschool and college just last night was extrabad and my method of forcing myself to wake up wouldnt work...like it wasnt even anything scary just like a calm female voice asking me questions but shit started having that full on panic attack feeling. Was diffent than normal man. Like a menacing aura kinda feel if you get me.

While I've never had sleep paralysis for more than a few seconds, I've heard that the best way to get out of it is to just relax.

Does anyone else hear that sound your hear when you plug your ears when the sleep paralysis starts? It's part of what makes it scary.
