like I got into an discussion with a dude who spent 300 bucks on the mcdonalds packs, like wtf promos that aren't playable or widely distributed like this don't hold much value

Collectibles in general have sky rocketed. I just sold 10 magic cards that I bought in 2019 at around $300 or so for $2500 last week.

Jackass Ecelebs started getting into the Pokemon card thing after seeing how much money could be made there so more clout chasers and money hunger scammers bought into it.

Copy Artifact, Wheel of Fortune, Survival of the Fittest, Tolarian Academies, Treachery, Yawgmoth's Will, and a bunch of others. They've all skyrocketed hundreds of percents since I bought them. Just sold extras that were sitting in binders not in commander decks but I'm tempted to sell it all. I can literally buylist one of my decks to cardkingdom for $10,000 which is...extremely tempting.

Yawgmoth's Will was outrageous. I bought them at $60 each and I sold them for $340 each. I bought a foil one for $200 for my foiled out Liliana deck last year and its current lowest price on tcgplayer is $1000.

So is it impossible to get the McDonalds happy meal toys rn? My wife wanted one

Yeah, i think that art is so in demand because of it's lack of printing, actually I think it did get reprinted right? It's crazy how much the game grew with the release of arena

Everything has whatever value people are willing to put on them. These being a limited time thing have got manchildren nerds out of the basement to collect them so kids cant play with them. Its sad, really. Its one thing to collect the old cards no longer in print, but to artificially inflate the price and demand of a fuckin happy meal toy just so you can put it on your shelf and smile at it. Come on, people..:
