Numerous emergency responders with the Fort Worth Fire Department, Fort Worth Police Department, MedStar EMS, and Saginaw Fire Department are working a severe accident involving dozens of vehicles and 18-wheelers on I35W near Yucca Avenue.
The accident(s) occurred around 6:00am this morning after icy conditions were reported on elevated bridges and overpasses.
It is still unclear how many people have been injured, says MedStar. Paramedics and firefighters are still working to find and extricate injured people. The departments AMBUS, a high capacity ambulance bus vehicle, has been on the scene providing assistance for all the injured people.
There have been reports that there be as many as 100 vehicles involved in the crash.
A Mass Casualty Incident has been declared.

I grew up in Wisconsin, so driving in inclement weather isn't a mystery to me but holy shit, it's so stressful driving here because nobody else seems to know how to drive on snow or ice.

The problem is they dont have plows or salt in TX to deal with this since it is so rare.

A few years back Atlanta got like 6 inches of snow and people had to abandon their cars on the freeway as they had no way to clear it.

Actually going to be interesting here as I didn't realize this section of highway is owned/operated by a private company.

Apparently this part of the highway is already known for seeing a lot of accidents and not being the safest stretch, wonder if they'll get sued for not ensuring their highway was actually safe to travel and whether it'll be successful.

Also they should ban semis on this stretch, I saw someone mention somewhere else that in Georgia that only two-axle vehicles are allowed in sections of highway like this.
