How do you convince interviewers that you're worth a job when one of the requirements is a degree?

College aint bad I just feel hands on expierence is superior. Companies just aint willing to risk money training someone who may be unteachable. Anything that involves risk to other peoples lives though (surgeons for example) I will always agree schooling needs to come first.

I don't think those are offered to anyone who isn't already in school so that would make the argument moot.

Did I not say some professions specifically ones that risk others lives are different or did you not read?

I don't agree with people not being paid. Paid less I can see though

As someone who didn't go to college, I do worry about my future with how at least Bachelors degrees seem to be equivalent to high school diplomas.

Well at least it's primarily confined to the white-collar world.

Most hiring managers are terrible at hiring for entry level positions. If they read a series of questions they've printed off of the internet then it's clear they shouldn't have their job. Unfortunately, these are the gatekeepers and it'll take at least another 20 years to get them out.

I'd say you should learn that job requirements aren't requirements.

Apply for the job, the interview process exist for a reason. When I'm reviewing resumes college experience plays little to no role.

Most jobs will say degree or equivalent experience. If you weren't in college the other option is to work so you should have the equivalent experience, in theory, if your life is on the rails so to say

There are plenty of professions that dont risk others lives that absolutely require a degree.

Not disagreeing but some if not many could get by by training people on the job if they could be bothered. Not saying all. I just pointed out what I did cause that would be a real bad situation if someone died and it came to light person had little or no training before starting the job.
