Although I am the descendant of slaves brought from Africa, I have this problem with African food. I need a god damn utensil. The idea of multiple hands in the plate that everyone is eating from by hand horrifies me.

but in Rwanda, we call it ugali.

I wasn't criticizing your post, since iirc, with Ethiopian food, people often eat in the way you posted.

if I saw something like that, I know I wouldn't eat the food.

I just think it's a cultural thing, even though it became a staple food in various countries.
