Not only did I provide every reference they wanted, obviously with a phone number, but I did so quickly and on time.

But guess what? They're using a piece of crap system that forces you to give them your previous employers email address. Then the employer has to answer 30 questions in that email.

Just call them you morons. I told them I have no idea where my supervisors are from ten years ago (I provided one from recent history successfully but they wanted more) and they suggested I track her down. How you morons? Track down my supervisor from Kohl's from 2012? Wtf?

Just call the fucking company you idiots.

Thankfully this job kinda sucked but I hope more employers don't do this. By far the dumbest shit I've seen with references. Why can't they call a number? Morons.

So I made fraudulent emails and answered the surveys myself. They said they can't hire me because they are fraudulent lol. No shit they are fraudulent. That was my only way. Track down my supervisor from ten years ago. What am I? A Witcher? Dumb mother fuckers.

They said I could reapply in a year lmao.

They are useless. Everyone is always gonna say someone is a ten out of ten unless you had a piece of crap employer in which case you don't put them as a reference.

I did a reno at the border crossing near here once in which I was back and forth from Canada to the US a dozen times a day and had my own key card and I didn't have to submit to that level of scrutiny.

That was like 2 years after 9/11 too.

You guys will laugh your ass off when I tell you. It's for housekeeping. The reason I applied is because it's at a YMCA up in the mountains. I wanted to check out Colorado and I was gonna find a cooler job soon after. I'm working on a traveling lifestyle. But I never wanted to do housekeeping that's why idgaf.

What I actually want to do is much cooler than this but doesn't start till March.

Besides the border I worked at a women's shelter at an undisclosed location and while there were a ton of rules and a criminal record check it was still a way more reasonable process and they had every reason to be extremely cautious given the people who were living their during a time of crisis.
