There's a certain irony in you of all posters preaching restraint/impulse control.

I dont see what is so bad about virtual learning. I can see, maybe, it being difficult to keep elementary school childrens attention in that environment, but anything middle school-university should be easy to do virtually. Youre basically doing a bunch of reading on your own and then listening to your teacher/professor lecture. That can be done via video conference, with a chat section so students can ask questions.

This is disregarding labs/other hands-on stuff but a lot of that has solutions if we can give our education system better funding/improve the way we spend that funding. And even if people have to show up in-person for the hands-on stuff, doing all we realistically can virtually would still help quell the spread of COVID.

I'm not gonna pay thousands of dollars in college funds to watch some teacher's livestream lol

not even adults have the self control necessary to commit to learning (among other things) outside of a focused environment, so studies showing the ineffectiveness of virtual learning doesn't surprise me at all. Could probably have had much better success though if most school systems had committed to planning a virtual year from the beginning throughout the summer instead of constantly jerking staff and student back and forth, which seems to be the case everywhere.

Teachers need both doses of a vaccine and given time to reach 95% (or however high it gets.) That would take about four weeks. That wouldn't be perfect but at least a start.
