I keep CRTs on hand strictly for this purpose, yes. Everything still works, all the way back to my NES.

I haven't played a legit retro console in several years when my friend who still had his NES and Snes moved. I love retro games, but I'm not gonna go through the hassle of modding an old console, or finding a CRT to play on.

You don't need to do that, it's just going to look like shit. I suppose it's possible that some newer TVs don't even have the inputs for it if that's what you meant.

Speaking of which, I just got a new 65", I wonder how shit they'd look on it, but I don't have any reason to hook them up atm otherwise.

I don't own any retro consoles but I like buying old games for my switch/pc. I'm currently playing through FF7 and Zelda II

I will play old RPGs all the time tbh. That's pretty much all I go retro for. Mostly SNES and PS1 games.

Ah, Majoras Mask on n64. Certainly a game that needs a fast forward function for all that waiting. An emulator game if I ever seen one.

I've probably picked up less than 10 new released over the past five years or so. I almost exclusively play older games. Very few games come out these days that I find at all interesting.

Technically, they kind of have one. But its goes forward 12 hours. Though, the remake makes the first three days go by really fast to help...

The remake actually changes the time skip so that you can now pick which hour you want to fast forward to, instead of automatically going to the next dawn/sunset.

You can also speed up time by 2x with the song of time...

Anyways, the oldest console I have hooked up right now is my PS1, and I actually still use it somewhat regularly. I used to have a bunch of my older consoles hooked up at once but now I just prefer to keep most of them in totes until I want to use them.

I am planning on buying a retrotink soon though, so I'll definitely be play my retro consoles more this year.

AFAIK, the double song of time is what you're thinking of. And that skips time... But it seems like the remake allows you to do that, so it's cool. Then there's teh inverted song of time which slows down time...

Oh, you're right... It's basically the same as sun's song.

I wish someone would make a retro Atari 800. Complete with built-in BASIC and an emulated floppy drive.

Been thinking about a raspberry pi/retropie set up on my living room tv for awhile now.

Not sure if its better/worse than other emulation alternatives but it seems to be the most stable...and keeps me from having to mess around with it on my computer.

raspberry pi

My co-worker brings them to work a lot. They are pretty good. Though, depending on which game for certain systems, you have to get the right set-up. I remember we had a little trouble when setting up Dreamcast and N64...

I would like to set up some emulation rig sometime, but I feel like I'd mostly just dick around for five minutes a piece on random games I never heard of, so I haven't bothered yet. I can't really think of a whole lot of older games I want to play anymore that I don't have some way of accessing already.
