Which would you rather have where you live: a week-long 104-degree heat wave, or a week-long 14-degree cold front?

I'm currently in the latter and I can wholeheartedly say: fuck that.

i mean I get not being acclimated but are you from Florida or something? 14F and sunny is like sweatpants and a down jacket walk around town weather

No, I'm from the Netherlands. Winters here generally dip under 32F extremely rarely. Right now, I'm freezing my balls off outside and there's snow as far as the eye can see. It sucks.

We're going down to 0C starting tomorrow

It won't be as bad as it is in the north or where TC is

But it still sucks

I'm trying to remember living in the Chicago area and whether I'd do this. probably sweatshirt and sweatpants running in it's s not windy. if it's windy then fuck that.

I've been pussified by Seattle weather though.

It's been 5-15F here every morning, and I run for about an hour every day. 5F is pretty uncomfortable and my cheeks and knees get cold and my eyelashes freeze, but 15 I'll sweatpants and a windbreaker and I'm toasty warm the whole time

You have to be outside in heat for a longer time before it becomes unbearable. Extreme cold is bad immediately.

This. If you have to take so much off to sufficiently cool down that you break public indecency laws, then it's too fucking hot.

I grew up in Louisiana and I live in Colorado and I really miss warm weather. Im not a cold weather person and Im already tired of slipping on ice and sliding around parking lots for six months out of the year. Legal weed is nice, but I honestly wouldnt be super upset if my family decided to move someone warmer (thats not Baton Rouge again no offense).

It got really hot in BR when the AC was broken, and I honestly dont miss the extreme heat, either. Showing up everywhere sweating because the car would take twenty minute to cook down was rough. Is there a state where it basically stays 70 year round?

baton rouge's summer humidity is the worst if you want to walk anywhere, even if it isn't ridiculously hot

winters and especially falls are very pleasant - the former a little chillier than central texas in general though - and i'd say spring is as well but damn, so many bugs in the air

kinda miss the city in a stockholm syndrome kind of way

could never see myself moving to a landlocked northern state like colorado - even if aspen during summertime is absolutely lovely - as continental climate involves harsh winters

For people saying "you can always add more layers", how are you able to bring your closet everywhere you go?

it's too damn cold for me to walk outside. normally, i'd bundle up, and be fine, but i had surgery on my hand a couple of weeks ago, so i cannot put on gloves atm. lows are gonna drop down to near 0f for at least the next week.
