Who did you like better?

I personally liked the later seasons cast better over all.
Winchester, Potter, and BJ were just better then
Burns, Blake and Trapper

I never really cared for Frank Burns, just found him annoying. I thought Charles was a much better love to hate kind of charater, like Rimmer from Red Dwarf.

Burns wasnt bad, but I loved Winchester.

Also I love both Colonel Potter and Lt. Colonel Blake. Both were fantastic.

I like Winchester much more than Burns. Winchester may have been a snob, but he came off as a genuinely kind-hearted person whenever serious issues came up, and he was more professional. He and Burns had similar gripes about the other surgeons, but Burns handled the issue by scheming to give himself greater authority (which he almost inevitably abused) while Winchester generally just did his job the best he could.

Overall, I like the later cast (Winchester, Potter, Honeycutt) than the earlier characters they replaced, but I enjoy the show all around regardless of the season and cast.

Winchester was an ass as a result of always holding himself to a higher standard than most people, but he had depth and core values, and some good moments of his own. Frank was written to be an irredeemable sleeze unliked by most at all times, sort of liked by one character (who became so much better without him) some of the time, without any direction for growth, but he was good as a butt of many jokes until his departure. Winchester was the better character on depth alone.

One of my favorite lines from MASH was when Burns said to Pierce "I'm here to relieve you" and Hawkeye replied, "You do resemble an enema."

Winchester by far, Frank was just too one-dimensional as a character. Frank literally had no redeeming qualities, which made the whole relationship with Margaret kind of unbelievable.

Winchester served a similar role as a foil to Hawkeye and BJ, but he could also stand on his own as a character in a way that Frank never could.

I prefer hogan's heroes

(though he was a junkie and pervert irl)

I'd go with Winchester. Sure, he was a snob, but he wasn't a power-hungry sleaze like Burns.

If asked about Potter vs. Blake, it would be too close to call. Ditto with BJ and Trapper.

I agree with that.
Though I do feel BJ and Potter are the better ones, Blake and Trapper are still enjoyable. I think Its just BJ and Potter are more likeable as people (more faithful). And with Potter he was a better leader, and like a father figure to the cast.
