Shes an adult though so if shes down to smash get it in brah! I definitely wouldnt initiate though, itd have to be her decision.

Literally was the case at my public high school. Hell, I went on a field trip the summer after graduation for a school club and the club sponsor/one of the teachers effectively locked us in our hotel rooms at night. She and one of the "chaperones" put bandaids on the outside of the doors so they could tell if we opened them after "curfew." Pretty much all of us were either 18 and/or graduated at that point. Hell, I'm pretty sure one girl there was 19 (she wasn't dumb/held back, she just started late because of the age requirements in my state). Looking back, I should have told the teacher to piss the fuck off, but there's this thing where when you literally had to listen to her roughly a month beforehand on threat of her ruining your entire academic career and future? It's hard to shake that fear.

And that mentality is why it's really creepy to be 34 and dating someone who's just out of high school. They generally don't have the life and world experience that you do and it creates a massive imbalance in the relationship that easily teeters on the side of being predatory.

I wonder how many good relationships have not happened in recent times due to one person being stupidly hung up on the others age with that being the sole reason they decided not to pursue . There is a legit reason younger women like older men and a clear reason most men for thousands of years prefer younger women.

Its pretty clear that the old system was working but now its clear a lot of weak men are shamed for liking a woman who is 18 or 19 if they are 30 or older just because older women are mad about it.

The age gap doesn't concern me, it's the coworker part. That kind of thing goes to shit *way* too often so I'd caution him against pursuing for that reason alone.

Depends how old the younger person is. Are they a teenager or are they like 20+. There is a massive difference. Plus you have to factor in the maturity of the younger party. I was encouraged by the women you seem to think are the reason people don't do it, "live a little", "you're still young, you should enjoy it while you still can", "you've spent years in a relationship, you should have a little fun" etc, etc. All those old chestnuts.

So, nope. People advise against it because its problematic not because they're jealous. This is just something people who want to date 18/19 year olds say to dismiss peoples advice.

Neah, how does that work when I speak from experience and have an age gap in my current relationship (although not as substantial, still open minded about life and gives different types of age gaps something to compare to)?

It really doesn't work out well when the younger person is 18 or 19. There is usually either a power dynamic thing going on and if it is something that happened authentically (throwing caution to the wind, giving something unconventional a chance, etc) then it usually ends up going bad because the differences in maturity and what you want from relationships is too vast to bridge and you both end up getting hurt.

Age gaps are fine and can totally work, but not when the younger person is still a teenager.
