Every time I go to read about a low budget movie, they always have does dozens of people giving them 1/10 ratings when professional critics give it a much higher score.

Professional reviewers rate a low budget movie for what it is instead of comparing it to blockbuster Hollywood films. Seriously, this was made for television by the SYFY channel. Dont hold it to the standards of Alien and Halloween if you want people to take your review seriously. Its like saying that a low budget movie is automatically incapable of being more than a 3/10.

I notice the same people who seem to exist only to review bomb movies. One person signs her first and last name to the bottom of every review she writes (which are all 1/10). What do you think that someone is going to reach out to hire you for being a professional reviewer?

There's often weird campaigns on social media I have no idea why or how they exist.

There's a large group of people who go on the big YouTube channels for toddler music and bombard the videos with dislikes.

because are plenty of well made low budget films with good scripts that know their limits on what will look good on a low budget

alot of these bad b movies are just slapped together with no care for quality as long as they can make a cool looking box cover with a catchy name that might sucker a few into watching

True, but I have seen a lot of these movies and many of them are solid 6/10 or 7/10. They just say it sucked and give it the lowest possible score.

I agree with that, but those ones fit under the former of my descriptions. Some ppl are just fast food movie watchers and only watch the most commercial corporate blockbusters and horror movies out, it is what it is

bad b-movies are only good if everyone involved is like... trying, y'know? It doesn't have to actually be good, but the people involved can't be half-asking it because they think their better than Raiders of the Lost Shark.

Also they can't lean into it too much. the Sharknados where everyone was acting like they were in on the joke just made the movies so much worse (and not in a good way)

There's an art to the bad b-movie that the terrible movies don't respect.

One other thing which irritates me about IMDB reviews is when people painstakingly recap the movie without giving opinions.

Review =/= recap, guys.

Rotten tomatoes is the same as well.

My husband and I recently discovered that both these websites are guilty of this.

Now we're discovering all these really entertaining movies that have dreadful online scores.
Its sad that this is what things have come to because it wasn't always like that.

It really does seem like more of these review bombs are more recent.
