In my opinion, our internet infrastructure just isn't there yet. Especially with data caps. I really wish Google Fiber was widely available.

I'm always surprised Disney never gave a shit about gaming. They put an astonishing amount of of technical R&D that goes into their CGI films and theme parks. Imagine if they made a game engine or something.

Bloomberg has an article about how Amazon is failing. Basically put a guy who barely knows anything about video games in charge because he was at the company early. Google did have game industry people in charge but I'd say their issue is they just don't have the commitment with making video games. It takes many years to open up a AAA studio and make AAA games.
