Transferred money to Fidelity. It says I can use it immediately even though it says it takes 1-3 days to process >_>

Were you able to buy with that money? I'm considering opening Fidelity just for that instant buy.

Remember guys you get taxed a minimum of 10% every time you sell for any amount of profit if you've held that stock under a year

Just something to keep in mind

Wow, I managed to fix my fidelity error. I had a 401k account on there from my job so I logged in through it. I feel dumb now.

I still have to wait until the third before I can close Robinhood.

Is Fidelity generally the best alternate platform to Robinhood? Mainly asking in terms of ease of use + not restricting popular stocks because they feel like it. The latter is more important, I'm okay with a learning curve.

I dont find it complicated. There is video tutorials on interpreting data. There is a search option for the company.

What I dont like about is that I cant find a way to sort companies by field like tech or price. This is the only advantage I feel Robinhood has over Fidelity.

Buying is better on Fidelity though because you dont need to press another button to change from dollars to shares. You can also choose limit or market on the spot. Its a lot smoother. I took a screen capture of it.

Appreciate this.

Maybe a good workaround to the "sorting" issue is to keep robinhood solely for searching purposes and just switch over to fidelity for the buying.

Really does suck what robinhood did, they do have such an elite beginner platform...

I can't get into the stock market game at the moment due to cutting down my mortgage a fair bit recently to take off guarantors but I will be doing so later in the year when the savings build up again and finally start to slowly build up some sort of portfolio.

What tactic are you guys going for? I feel like I'd guess and try and predict companies that I think will grow in the future and stay in long term. I would have thought NVIDIA but damn their stock shot up significantly in the last few years. I suppose with everything they're doing it could shoot up even more.

The other thing I suppose would be to try and invest in companies that are in a bit of a low point at the moment like Qantas but lol their stock only ever seems to be between $3-$7 and it's $5.50 right now so probably not much of a ceiling there.

I suppose if it was easy to pick out the next Apple or Tesla we'd all be rich lol

As exciting as the GameStop thing is deep down I know I never would have taken that sort of risk over them lol

Their commission trades are $0 for US stock, ETF, and option trades. There is no monthly or annual account fees.

Ive been thinking about big events and things. Like buying Virgin Galactic and seeing what the spacex shuttle launch does to it. Its effectively the only real competitor with any comparable hype right now. GM announced going al electric and probably took a dip for it, but Id be considering all the Chinese electric competitor companies coming in the next few years.
