That people only hyped up because it was PS exclusive

What did people think of it when it got ported to PC?

Wasn't the PC version a buggy mess?

i don't care much for story in games unless it's a Megaten game

Unfortunately the PC port was terrible.

But it is a good game. The first area though was boring af, I actually gave up on it and came back to it later. All the side quests are lame as hell there, so my recommendation is to try to get through the early story ASAP.

Do you mean gameplay wise or story wise?

Fairly light RPG elements. Has a skill tree, along with weapons and armor with upgrade mod slots. Also a resource system (which I personally find pretty annoying).

Gameplay is more about using different traps, weapons, and status effects vs. various robot monsters, and some exploration.

I think they did a good job making an open world game with an actually engaging combat system and roster of enemies.

But the story and environment were pretty meh.

I mean, there are parts about the open world system I don't like, and the way that all the towns except for like two are just unmemorable filler with some vendors and sidequests and nothing else of note.

But I thought the combat was extremely fun and satisfying, the story once it gets going was interesting and emotionally gripping, and most of the major characters had a sidestory that I enjoyed following (with some exceptions like the hunting lodge chick, but hey, at least you fight a bunch of big monsters for the quests).

Indeed.

People forget it was made by Guerrilla, some lameass b tier developer that made killzone

It was never anything special

It was pretty good. Open world and visuals blew me away. And for it to come out relatively early in the generation was a plus.

I remember loving it, but I also can't remember much about it. That probably explains that game the most, something you won't regret playing but it won't have any lasting impact.

It's my favorite game of the last generation. The world, story, and gameplay mechanics were fantastic in my eyes.

had a good time with it. it's a beautiful game and has solid gameplay...only knock i have with it is that some of the enemies are a bit over designed kinda like transformers in the movies, pretty minor complaint tho.

yeah i know it has crafting, but i doubt it lets you make OP weapons or whatever

i want to give it a try but blockbuster games like that... eh. i dropped Nier Automata after like two hours of playing it because it was just such a huge task to take on

it much more gameplay oriented than nier. its more like monster hunter lite; alot of different tools you can use to take down enemies.
