I kind of cringe at some of my old Facebook posts because they were clearly a not so subtle cry for help. I probably just judge myself harsher than anyone else.

I didn't really do much fake smiling though unless it was one of those kind of awkward "I guess I feel the unavoidable urge to smile during this current situation but to be honest I am not really enjoying this smile" type of smiles, like when we did a secret Santa thing one Christmas and I got a fucking picture frame and it seemed like everyone was laughing at me

Sadly I don't have a lot of pics from when I was peak happiness, but I looked like a dork at that time anyway. Now that I'm hotter I don't do anything to get excited about or take pics of lol

Well I'm still not all that photogenic, and I don't know, just taking selfies at the house isn't really my thing

I never took pictures of myself if I was depressed. I only ever allowed it if I felt good about myself.

Thats why I hardly ever take my picture. Im always depressed and dont want to remember it.

I miss "normality" but I guess we all do. However I've certainly been happier. I'm not depressed but life is just kinda dull rn.

yeah, i definitely see how miserable i was looking back on it. i'm going through a bout of depression right now but the fact that i have both happy and sad photos means i'm sure i'll be happy again

I legit feel bad for all the people/businesses/etc. getting slammed in one way or another the past year, but for me personally, I am loving it. I present myself as a massive extrovert, but I am so introverted that the less people, the better.

Despite my hard-partying reputation, I actually lean towards being an introvert. It's not that introverts hate being around people, but it is exhausting. I always had a way of getting away from large gatherings to regroup when I needed to.

It's the mask world that's really sapping my will to live and breaking what little empathy I can muster. The masks really stretch the ability to read facial expressions and body language to the limit. The social distancing. Social venues being largely non existent for a year now.

The world as a whole just feels so unpersonal and detached/alienating these days.

It's driving me far deeper into nihilistic introversion than I'm comfortable with to be blunt. Before, withdrawal was a voluntary choice.

Now, it's the default state of the world every day when I wake up.

It feels almost malicious and wrong, and every fiber of my being wants to lash out at how unnatural even the most mundane and benal of personal interactions feels in this Covid Clownworld. Just getting a cup of coffee or a pack of smokes requires a ritual to signal my virtue by wearing the ceremonial muzzle.

Work? That's even worse. Yes fellow human. We toil. Like a good faceless cog in the machine. Make sure you're too far away to touch. A shoulder tap or pat on the back is attempted murder now.

It just all feels so engineered by a sadist and wrong.

Yeah, it's rough looking back at some of the pics from when I was recovering from being suicidal. There's a few from when I was under 130 lbs and it just looks so sad to see that I got that small because I didn't care enough about myself to eat anything.

I'm introverted. My life hasn't changed all that much but I do miss spending more time with my family and being in a pub/bar. It's not all bad as I still meet up with my bro now and then. I also can still go out on walks/hikes. Still restrictions are always a bummer.
