Can't you see that French is like 30 minute - 4 hour videos looking at documents and explaining things in a dry way

LegalEagle is spongebob memes and bad skits that occasionally has an interesting lawyer ancedote in it inbetween sponsors.

Same as Sterling, Plinkett, AVGN, Nostaglia Crtic, Angry Joe etc.

I'm not knocking either guy, I'm just saying. That's the difference between a vid getting 40k views and 3 million views.

Compare Ross Scott or TehSnakerer to Jontron and BrutalMoose

Honestly that's a lot of her videos. A lot of the older ones she presents a topic and you're thinking "Oh I know how she's going to go with this" and you wait for the resolution and... it never comes. Turns out there's rarely "a right answer" to a lot of these topics. There may be a "slightly more correct" answer, but even then it's a path that doesn't solve everything.

She left a bad first impression but once the video got going it's pretty well done. I like that she doesn't drag on points or forces her views but gives you material to think about. I flip-flopped in this one. I'll finish it now.

I dont give a shit about Harry Potter, but even I can see the value of a person who managed to write a book series that influenced millions of children and young adults. Probably did more to help get kids reading than most.

Your mileage may vary, but I would think that contribution to the world outweighs her opinions about transwomen.

Even if Rowling is considered a bad person I'm still going to continue reading Harry Potter and playing HP video games because I am capable of dividing media from its creator.

For one, the mighty can fall, and have.

For another, social goodwill is not a video game value. In real life, you cannot amass 20,000 positive Fallout karma, then kill a child, lose 2,000 Fallout karma and still have an overwhelming net positive and get the good ending. (Edit: Looking it up, "killing a child" is a bad example, substitute some other murder)

Hell the very fact that Joanne does have such sway and influence makes her even more dangerous as someone who could wield the cudgel of transphobia, especially if she frames it under the noble cause of "saving women".

I'm sure you've heard the idiom "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions"?

Really enjoyed this video, the angle on examining bigotry rather than dwelling on specifics was very interesting. The idea that trauma is at the root of a lot of bigotry makes a bit of sense and is pretty horrifying.

Just got around to watching this video in its entirety. Where is the lie? There arent any. JK Rowling is capable of so much more empathy but has consistently chosen to make trans issues about herself, her own childhood and her own trauma. She needs mental help.

There was 1 lie in the video and that was handwaving the lawsuits in the UK as being the government/authority going after transgenders.

The people making the lawsuits were transgenders who had transition therapies and surgies/Treaments when they were kids. Then regretted it as adults and sued the NHS on the grounds that they couldn't consent because they were kids.

Keep in mind the NHS is unviersial healthcare

That's a more nuanced issue than just going "How dare THEY tell US what to do!?"

I agree about JK tho.

"Transgenders are bad because I was sexually abused and so defending equal rights is justifiying that assault!" is a crazy non sequitur
