I watched most of them as a kid, but thay was a while ago. Going to start with the OG and work myself up to the newest before the new one comes out.

Any suggestions on other Kaiju films I should watch? Other the King Kong (its kind of a given).

There was a Mothra trilogy I saw once on sci fi channel years ago that I liked. Rebirth of Mothra I think is the name of the trilogy. From the 90s.

I would try to *at least* get the other Toho films that featured monsters that ended up with Godzilla, like the original Mothra and Rodan, and I suppose the 3 Mothra movies from the 90's.

Would be fun to also throw in Varan, Frankenstein Conquers the World, War of the Gargantuas, and if you want to go really deep throw in Gorath, Matango, the Mysterians, Dogora, Yog (although I think thats always called "Space Ameoba these days) etc

Obviously you only have so much time before the new film and there plenty of Godzilla films alone, but I suppose if you have infinite time you could throw in all the Gameras for good measure.

90s Gamera trilogy is a must

Also watch episode 10 of Ultraman for the lulz, since the Godzilla suit was used for Jiras. >_>

I have a lot of time on my hands these days. I think I can manage all of them before the new movie. Thank you for the recs tho.

No problem, I love this silly stuff. >_>

If you really want to go chronological there is nothing wrong with that, but I found when I started out doing that, it got boring quick, so I started jumping around between the different timelines, etc. So I... kind of watched them in order, but split in 5 different catagories (I split Showa in two since the later ones have a much different feel and gave non-Godzilla it's own catagory), so I'd do one from each and rotate around, kept it feeling more fresh. But that's just me.
