I am the only person on the staff aside from the big boss that has a very important certification. it will take two years for anyone else to get it. Mine is expired and he emailed me saying he'd pay for the (not at all expensive) recert if "he can expect me to stay for at least a few years"

I was already planning on staying, but how should I phrase "I'll stay if you pay me like you want me to stay", cause I'm pretty unhappy with my pay at the moment.

How do you even phrase that?
