Seems like whenever he posts benign ideals he gets trashed for it.

It kind of proves Kojima's point that people remain divided and hateful.

He doesn't come across as someone with a big ego, I think people are over-analyzing him.

Certain figures within EA Studios would better fit that description.

I cant really argue against this; he did insert himself in MGS after all (3 separate games no less).

But, he is good at what he does, even if he is egotistical.

He did that for fun (parody), and he isn't the only developer to do this over the years (just that they were not as popular as Kojima).

His games still sell well enough to turn a profit so he'll keep getting funded unless something completely flops.

That doesnt mean he isnt egotistical, just means the others are too (in a way).

I love his games, and hes my favorite game creator; but the dude has an ego. Look at the whole reason he was fired from Konami; he though his game was so important he spent over a million $ on music; had like 100 track made and only used 1. He thinks hes good enough to waste that much money on a single track heard for maybe 15 seconds.

Kojima is a bit artsy fartsy, but from all accounts he's a nice person and not an asshole like certain other "names" in the industry.

Thats new info to me, I usually don't pay attention what goes on behind the scenes unless its drama.

Funny, I love Kojima but those are the exact reasons I'm not a fan of Nolan.
