When asked who would win in a fight when the two were in their prime, Tyson said Ali would win, and Ali said Tyson would win. I've provided a link. What do you think?

Anyone who automatically says Tyson would win is a wussy. Tyson himself says Ali would win. Yes that's out of respect but nonetheless, you guys don't understand the dynamics of a real fight between these two champions.

It's likely Ali would lose, but it's also likely Tyson would lose in the same way.

There's also so many dynamics that people don't take into account. Like one of them losing and the opposite person winning later in a rematch.

Basically nobody knows. I could foresee both winning. People learn and improve and dodge. If one of them is a God, both of them are.

Well said. The previous generation's equivalent of this was Ali vs. Rocky Marciano. They actually made a simulated bout between the two, with Ali and Marciano faux sparring, and the footage being pieced together to match what a computer simulation decided the result would be. IIRC, they released two versions, one where Ali won, and one where Marciano won.

Tyson wins this imo.

Ali at his prime was a superb outfighter and fast enough to dodge everything but he wasn't as great of an infighter. He developed that later when he wasn't at his prime to compensate.

Tyson at his physical prime was built to just run up to guys super fast and use overwhelming force. He lost when his body no longer let him rely on that and I dont think Ali was quite fast enough to avoid a Tyson flurry of punches or pick him apart at range.
