My employment checks have Federal and NY State and NYC withholdings. They already take a lot of money

Do I have to file and pay in CT as well? No deductions are made from my paycheck for CT

Apparently if you're a non resident worker in CT, and you work outside of CT sometimes. You only have to pay taxes specifically on the amount of days you worked in that state or in CT.

So if your job is in CT, and you worked in NYC for the majority of the time because you were remote, then you only have to pay taxes on the days you worked if you were in CT specifically

So if you were out of state due to Covid and you only worked about 60 days in CT before the Covid-19 shutdown you only pay taxes for those 60 days

Whatever extra you pay in CT due to taxes, you simply report that on the NY State tax return and they will pay you back the exact difference
