My wife and I are thinking of getting a new console when theyre actually in stock, but were so out of the loop with consoles these days weve got nfi whats the better console anymore.

If you like the Switch's gimmick, get the Switch. If not, get whichever one of the remainder has more exclusives that appeal to you and/or your preferred controller layout.

Based purely on value for money the Series S is phenomenal.

Yeah, we both have Switches. Were torn between PS5 and Xbox for something with a bit more grunt

Well, the new Xbox is more powerful but it probably matters more what games you want to play--the ps5 will likely have way more exclusives

That's a bit up in the air at the moment after Xbox bought Bethesda and Zenimax etc.

That all sounds very sensible, cheers all.

Id probably steer clear of the Series S because of the lack of disc drive, but on reflection a series X would make sense. Ive got quite a few XBOne games, so backwards compatibility helps.
