Well that explains the constantly feeling of light headedness and brain fog. And why my heart feels like its about to burst out of my chest just for climbing the stairs. I thought it was just because of my huge belly.

Time to eat some filet mignons every day.

Yes pre-natal. My hemoglobin was 11.9 before and now is 9.5. Normal is 11. My red blood count is also low. Baby is sucking everything from me.

He also said my protein was too low as well and need to eat more meat. Which I have very little appetite for these days.

That blows but at least the foods you need to have also happen to be healthy and contribute to a good metabolism too ie. broccoli, spinach, steak, fish, etc.

Isnt anemia meaning that you dont have enough iron?

Frosted mini wheats is a great cereal its loaded with iron.
Yes. Doc wants me to take daily iron supplements. I hear those are terrible on the stomach though. But gotta do what he says

Good to know about the cereal! Probably healthier than the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Ive been eating too lol

Dang thats early. When we did my initial test it was normal. But I went in for a gestational diabetes test at 28 weeks and he was like yeah no diabetes but you need iron asap. My diet has been crap though

I had severe anemia as as a preteen. Raisins is what brought my iron back up.

I suppose you are eating for two now so I imagine the same nutrients are now going to the baby as well.

Thank you! Did the iron help with her symptoms? Ive been so lethargic for weeks with a constant pounding in my head. Im hoping the supplements + better diet will help.

Im 28 + 4. I did the test Monday. Wow you guys are getting closer, how exciting! Did your wife have to do a growth scan? Thats next on the books for me at 30 weeks.

By any chance, has your wife experienced nose bleeds? Ive been getting terrible ones that doc says is normal. Wonder if its contributing to the anemia.

I actually got a big battery of bloodwork done for my yearly physical back in November.

I had really low iron and vit. D. I have been on daily iron pills for awhile now.

Good to know about raisins!

Im taking note of all these suggestions and going to put a grocery order.

A big reason is I was too nauseous to eat much of anything up until a month ago. But by then Ive had such low energy plus back pains to cook myself anything decent. My husband tries and helps but hes clueless in the kitchen.

Ya she had a growth scan on Monday because the placental cord insertion was a little off where it should have been (that's fine). Baby is in the 49th percentile at 4 lbs 10 oz. Everything is measuring right on or a day ahead or behind except for his head which is 2 weeks ahead! I joke about how he got it from me (I have a giant head), and my wife gets jokingly annoyed cause she's the one who has to push it out, lmao.

Ya she was having nosebleeds for a while until we got a humidifier for the bedroom. That stopped them pretty much right away.

Good luck with your growth scan!

my wife had that problem as well through like the first half of the 2nd trimester. It's come back a little bit, and she says lemonade zero vitamin water helps a lot.

I haven't had any stomach pain. Some impact on bowel movements -- fewer but not painful or anything. I may have slightly more energy after work now.

Best of luck. My mum didn't have problems with anaemia but rather diabetes during pregnancy. After my brother was born, it went away

Yeah my placenta is low too! They want to see that its moved up a bit. Initially it was over my cervix and its been slowly moving so theyre optimistic that it should be ok enough now. Lol thats funny about his head! Our girl seems to have a big head too and my husband jokes that she has his brain lol. She also kicks the crap out of me all day and we joke shes going to be active like him because I was a calm baby while he liked to run everywhere. Its like shes doing gymnastics in there sometimes.

Ugh Ive tried a humidifier for weeks to no avail. My doc on Monday said to try Vaseline in my nostrils before bed and Ive been doing that but still had an episode this morning out of nowhere. It looked like a murder scene.

Oh Ill try giving that a shot too. I was drinking sprite at some point. Ive never been a big soda drinker but it was all I could drink for a while.
