Lidstrom was basically the perfect defenseman, it was pretty amazing to have him on the team for his entire career. Yzerman is basically my childhood hero and I got a chance to meet Datsyuk once and he was such a really good dude and I think that swayed my fandom overall. I met Osgood the same day and he was nice enough but you could kinda tell he was just being generically nice if that makes sense. While we were there all the other players were coming out of the locker room headed for the bus. Datsyuk had zero obligation to stop but he did with a big smile, gave her a hug, signed stuff for us and hung out for like 10 minutes. A couple years ago I saw Detroit play Nashville here in TN and easily the loudest sporting event I have been to.
