Would you rather have a theater room or a home arcade?

Let's just say budget isn't an issue and each room can be as ridiculous as you want. You've got a big room to play with in both scenarios

  • The theater room is your own private cinema. No windows, theater type seating that can sit several people, a bar at the back and the ability to watch any movie you want in theater like quality
Something like this;

  • The home arcade is a room dedicated to video games. It can be filled with any arcade machine you can buy. Or even make dedicated spaces for VR or home gaming.

What would you rather have in your home?

That counts. Just a room dedicated to video games is fine. It can be filled with whatever you want.

I don't care about arcade cabinets, but I think Id do it for stuff like VR, pool, shuffleboard, etc. I like the idea of doing more interactive stuff with company.

Also, take the candy out and put berries in those lol. I don't eat candy, but having blueberries on deck is hype.

I just want to restore this world back to the natural. Bring order to this broken reality. To the way it should have been, all those many years ago.

Theater probably. Arcade could be cool but sounds like a hassle and I'd def spend more time in a theater room.

I do want to own a Space Harrier machine one day though.

Your attitude is going moldy pretty quickly. This is MY fantasy room. I imagine I have someone to switch them out that I pay minimum wage and never acknowledge as a person with feelings and dreams.

How do you figure? The phrasing of the choice suggests you couldn't use the home theater for video games, only movies/TV.

You can use the theater room to play games but you're restricted to whatever limitations there may be with that set up.

That makes perfect sense. In that case, I want a whole wall of fruit.

there wouldn't be any limitations if you know what you're doing

Well you wouldn't be able to use it for a LAN setup! I think some home theater set ups that look amazing can be totally shit for games due to input lag or whatever too but I'm sure there would be some sort of alternatives by now. Worst case scenario you can just put in a massive TV with a little back room for inputs to swap around as needed.

Though you said it could be as big as I want it so I guess I'd go arcade with like 4 cabinets

I've played this at Dave and Busters a few times over the years. It's a blast, but I'm always flailing around so much I can only go a few rounds before I need to rest my arms.
