Didn't VIII have that one boss that starts out with an unblockable attack that does 9,998 damage to all party members?

Unless I am mistaken, this is one of the optional Weapon bosses, and the attack is Light Pillar. It isn't a starting move, and it does 9999 to one character. It is unblockable, though, that is correct.

Probably means that other attack that does 4000 damage to every character 4-5 times. Thats fun.

Even so, it's a Weapon boss, known in some FF games to be the most powerful of all the bosses, certainly moreso than the final boss.

I...I don't know how you can complain a boss meant to be the toughest boss actually is. and it's optional, too.

Id welcome a Final Fantasy VIII Remake if the major issues of the original game were fixed. In fact, I think it would be interesting if Square alternated between Remake titles and new numbered entries for the Final Fantasy franchise. Kind of like how were getting XVI next then VII Remake Part 2 after.

Again there's a difference between a tough well designed boss and Fundamental bad design

You were wrong but thats understandable considering URs description of the attack was incorrect. The boss doesnt start out using MF and it is indeed blockable.
