i tried the game out today.

i liked it for it's visuals and whatnot but as i was playing it, i couldn't help but noticed some similarities with Breath of the Wild but i'm sure that's been pointed out before. lol

I actually like the core gameplay loop a ton more than BOTW

Not like Botw itself wasn't super derivative of other open world RPGs. Just a natural progression of creating fantasy adventure games like this.

It's bullshit that WL8 doesn't guarantee a 5* from elite bosses. Did 4 in a row and 3 didn't even give me a 4*

The only thing WL8 changes with the elite bosses is a guaranteed 5* glad/troupe

The drops are otherwise the same.

I'm WL8 and don't always get a 5*, with weekly bosses yeah, but not stuff like vines.

More like there's no need to rush WL8

AR56 also needs something like 236000 xp or roughly half a year of dailies so the power creep is coming eventually. I assume Inazuma will have a lot of stuff that wants you to be AR60+ and that they will add shit that lets people steamroll the first 55ARs to make it so that you have to go to Inazuma to make any appreciable progress after that. Kinda like what World of Warcraft does when they raise the level cap.

WL8 is 55. There's no way you can be at AR58 it takes like half a year just to get to 56

Really? Rumors and wiki say WL8 is guaranteed 5* artifact for elite bosses.

Just saying, but dailies aren't the only sources of exp. But yeah it will take you freakishly long. IIRC someone calculated you will reach AR60 by fall sometime?

In general, Mihoyo is very calculating and makes sure there is a meaning behind the things they do, for example how they went along with players' demands to remove resin from events, so they also greatly reduced the rewards by (what I imagine) the amount you'd gain with that resin normally and then made us spend double or triple the amount of event challenges for all rewards.
You can bet by the time we even get close to AR60 at all, it'll already be Inazuma time.
And at that point we'll likely get a full redesign of all character/weapon/artifact/talent upgrades and AR exp.

I'm assuming it's only referring to weekly bosses because once I hit 7 I always got a 5*. That's never been the case with the nonweekly ones.

Not exactly sure what you mean, but compare the Fischl (meteor shards) event to the Dragonspine (Festering Desire) event.
They're still unlocked after a few days pass, and instead of waiting for 14x20 / 7x40 resin runs, we had to do each of them 21 times at no cost.

Using just daily commissions it takes over 100 days just to get AR56. Now true dailies are not there only sources of exp but by the time you get here the alternative sources have already become scarce. The thing that will determine how quickly you get to AR60 is by large the amount of new content that they release.

I believe they said they plan on expanding "the chasm" next. Which I guess is another part of Liyue.
