-unless you roll the quarters into $10 sets before the year is over. Can you do it?

Scenario:

This is a crazy reality TV show/game show that you have won entry to. The show awards you 50 Million dollars over 1 year. The catch is that it is all in quarters and that you must roll up all the quarters in $10 sets before the year is over. Every day approximately 54,795 quarters are delivered to you every day for a year. You must roll all these quarters up before the year is over to be awarded the money. You cannot spend any of the money awarded to you. If you do you not only fail, but you must pay back any money you have spent. By the end of the year, you must have it done 100% accurate with no missing currency. You will also fail if you are missing any currency.

The gameshow will give you a place to live with all the essentials including a little extra such as TV, internet, etc. However, those essentials are limited by the show and designed for 1 person comfortably to live in that house without worry of running out of anything. If you go over the cap that day, the show will shut off anything you go over for that day and will keep it off 24 extra hours as a penalty for going over. You can also bring whatever you want into this house as well. Use whatever means necessary as long as you get it done. You can bring people into the house as well but only 4 total people can be working at once. That is you plus three. Anything over that will mean you fail.

Can you get it done? What would be your strategy?

That is approximately 1,438 rolls per day. That is a ton of work in 1 day that you can probably get done using up most of the hours in a day. However, that is 1 day. You have 364 days remaining. You also must be diligent the entire year not to lose a single quarter

Great idea. It wont be that easy though. Dont forget. You have an insane amount of coins per day. You still have the physical labor of moving the currency. This is every day for a year

I get that, but using a machine cuts a lot of the rolling by hand work. So I'm basically pouring into a machine, taking the rolls out. Rinse repeat until i hit my daily quota.

That's not even close to correct.

$50m = 5 million $10 rolls of quarters.
5,000,000 / 365 = 13,698.63 rolls per day.
That's 570.77 rolls per hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for an entire year straight. Even with 4 people rolling them, each individual would have to average more than 2 coin rolls per minute, every minute, for an entire year non-stop.

It's not physically possible.

That is some crazy mental toughness to do it for a full year

Sure, I'd just hire 4 super meticulous people to do it pay them like a grand an hour to meet their quota.

Pay someone to design a machine that can roll up the quarters in such time frame where the only thing I need to do is pour the quarters into a giant bucket. Probably banks should have similar machines already.

Liquidate my stocks, buy an industrial coin sorter (the kind banks use to roll their quarters), and... fuck off a majority of the time.

Yep. I'd use 2 WR-500's and it would be about 4-4.5 hours total of work a day. Each machine would do half the days work in under 3 hours, but I'm counting me lugging the coins around and refilling as well. It would be a relatively small investment for $50,000,000. Worth it in the end. And unlike this last year, at least I'd be working a real job! Sure, no money in the short term, but I had no money this last year either.

This would be insane, but I could very easily do it. Even missing a single day could be made up with working a few extra hours the next day.

DEAL!

That's what I was thinking, and all the things you need are already supplied so you dont need money until it's over. Easy money.

As long as you have enough starting capital, it would definitely be easy enough to hire people or buy machines to do it. If you had to do it by yourself, it would be impossible.
