I mean, the end result would be the same if he tried freeing you. There's no way he moves fast enough to cut you free before Khotun grabs him. And even if he did...you have no weapons, you're fucked.

He dies either way and took the best option available to him.

I feel trying to give Jin a fighting chance would have been a better move. I knew he was dead the moment the scene started, but dangit, I think this is the first death in the game I cared about.

The other option was to run but that likely would have also ended with an undignified death. He did the bravest thing available to him, sucks but he really shouldn't have followed Jin.

Been googling this game, is it any good? Some kinda japanese samurai game, is it anything like okami? I liked sucker punch's sly cooper series for what they were but wasn't too crazy about infamous, didn't even bother getting second son. So not sure if they're still making good games

It's the Arkham/Mordor/Infamous/Spiderman etc. type of game. It's great if you like those kinds of games.
