Nah, there's only one or two moments in the game where it becomes confusing and you don't know how to progress but other than that, it's fairly straightforward.

As far as metroidvanias go it's pretty easy to navigate.

the samurai guy is playable. the vamp chick, who was not originally planned to be playable was made into a playable character. there is supposedly still 1 more character to come.

I've actually been playing this now, for the first time. It's good and I appreciate that they are adding lots of content, though I don't know if I really care to delve beyond my regular Miriam run. Got other shit to play.

I'm actually playing on switch and it's a mess lol. I don't know how broken it was before though so it's hard to say if it's "fixed". I haven't really found it gamebreaking but it's just stuff that makes you feel like it's really lacking polish. Initial load time is insane and there is intermediate loading between rooms that feels like it shouldn't be there. Sometimes it freezes up for a few seconds but I haven't had it crash yet. It's annoying particularly when it freezes mid combat but the game isn't necessarily hard enough that it throws you off too bad. Frame drops sometimes too but there's one area of the game where it's really bad.

What are the other versions like, cause I heard it kinda had general issues. Which isn't surprising since it doesn't look by far like the most demanding thing on switch but it's the poorest running I've played yet by far.

As someone who played on the switch, it's fine. There's some annoyances (initial load time is long, occasional frame studders), but nothing game breaking. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
