Message her on LinkedIn

If you went on her page she already saw that she had a view from you

Why not just send her a message on LinkedIn?

IIRC you can have your profile set up to where if you view someones page, they can see its you. However you also cant see people that viewed your page unless you buy premium

Ah ok, cant you send her a connection request? I believe if she accepts then you wont have to pay to message her, but dont quote me on that

I can see when people view my profile and for the most part who they are (unless they are a recruiter), and I don't pay for anything

Ohh gotcha, didn't know you could do that within your profile settings. I purposefully don't look at people's LinkedIn profiles because I don't want them to know I was looking

(i'm not a creeper I swear)

What you suggested is fine, TC. Just tell her you didn't have her contact info and found her work email on the company website. That's not weird. It's literally why it's there, for people to find.

I'd imagine if you're comfortable enough to ask her for a reference, then your relationship should be good enough that she won't mind you found her at her new job.

Yeah, if you set your profile viewing to private mode, they can't see you viewed them when you look at their profile. You just can't see when they viewed yours either.

I have a simple system/loophole for this. I always keep my profile views public so I can see whenever someone has looked at my profile. If I need to see someone's profile, I go to my settings, set it to private, then look at their profile. Once I'm done looking, I set it back to public. Voila.

I wouldn't consider Linked-In profile viewing as creeping. You're looking at their professional background just like they'd put on their resume. It's not like they have a bikini album for you to look at.

Ive thought of that loophole before but I always kinda wondered if it worked in such a way that if you turn off private mode then the previous history would become available.

Im too lazy to test it though and dont use LinkedIn anymore so I dont really care to try.

I tested it using my wife's profile. It works.
