Or the fact people not only watched it but genuinely plan to set aside time to watch it. Is being a weeaboo no longer a thing? Was I born in the wrong generation? Brief major internet attentions scattered throughout time has given them much more credence and less likeliness of encountering people who has had 0 encounter with the Japanese media. Also a lot of them are becoming adults with enough money and influence to create legitimate services, which is making the community seem more legitimate.
