Love basketball but agree that things only really get exciting at 4th quarter and late stages of the playoffs.

Same can kinda be said about most other sports too though.

MLB is the only one I'm truly passionate about. It's mostly because I think baseball is simply the best sport. But it also helps I think that I actually have a team to root for. I don't like either of the local teams in both the NFL and NBA.

At least for the NFL and NBA I do follow what's generally going on with them, even if I don't often watch. I don't know a damn thing about the NHL though.

I took several years off when it was the 3 shooters vs Lebron, that junk wasnt exciting at all and you knew exactly who was going to the finals as soon as the season started.

Its definitely getting better, nets are still a joke and wont win squat, so hopefully it continues getting back to basketball and the excitement will come back.

True.

I do think people underrate how much harder it is to stop an offense when all 5 guys can hit shots from the outside and put the ball on the floor, though. There are some rule changes I'd like to see to help the defense, but part of the difference between now and years past is that it's become harder to help when fewer and fewer guys can be safely sagged off of and the big rim protectors are forced to defend away from the basket more often.

Its not exciting to me. Theres a lot of tension in the last few minutes, but before that, its boring.

Its not like most other sports where every score affects the game in a major way so most point gains are exciting and accompanied by celebrations. In basketball its half expected that the team holding the ball will get it in, so if they do its like who cares? and if they dont its disappointing.

So, yeah. 2 hours 20 minutes of meh and disappointment followed by 10 minutes of real tension and if one team misses a lot you might not even get that 10 minutes. Doesnt sound like fun to me, but to each their own.

i'm japanese, and can only really ever invest myself in sports with at least some japanese representation (so it's pretty much just baseball for me; soccer/football i only watch during the olympics or world cup)

is hachimura the only japanese (or even just asian) player getting regular playtime these days?

I have no idea why people looking like you would be remotely relevant to how good a sport is other than racism tbh.

Also, Japan loves basketball. They just aren't very good at it on a world stage.

As for Basketball, I'd say it's one of the higher tier team sports, but team sports in general bore me. Too long and drawn out. The Olympics, UFC, Tennis, Boxing, etc. are far more entertaining imo. Olympic volleyball is pretty damn entertaining for a team sports.

Soccer/futbol is boring as watching mold grow and I don't care how many European fans rage over this.

I do think he's the only Asian player in the league at the moment.
It's only his second season, he was All-Rookie last year and I've seen quite a few people thinking he has star potential.

there is Yuta Watanabe, but Rui Hachimura is better than he is.

Don't find it all that entertaining. The only sports I like to watch are hockey and mma.

It's boring. The same for watching other sports.

Hes a 2nd-year player who has shown potential as a scorer. Already getting 4 FTA as a sophomore in under 30mpg is a good sign that he could someday be an elite one.
