One criticism the Japanese PTA in the 80s had about "American" cartoons like GI Joe being aired was that they didn't show the aftermath of violence. In Japanese shounen anime, by law you had to show the downside of war which meant showing favorite characters getting killed or maimed. Being a secondary character who was popular with the audience could be a death sentence to appease parent's groups. --- "But who prays for Satan?
