- "Immunity" has to build up after receiving the vaccine. Takes at least two weeks after the second dose (five weeks total)

- Vaccine is not 100%. It's only 90-94% effective after the second shot. That means it won't work for one in ten or one in five people. We must continue to protect those people.

- Not everyone can get the vaccine due to health concerns. Once again, we need to continue to protect people.

A vaccine rollout does not mean things will start to go back to "normal."

Still most experts think we could be seeing normality as soon as June if things go to plan. So far things haven't gone to plan, but most still think this is a realistic time line. Thankfully more people are receptive of the vaccine than what was once initially thought, so hopefully idiots don't fuck this up for the rest of us.

Frankly, I think we all should wear masks and social distance even after majority gets the vaccines. Masks and social distancing can prevent various contractible illnesses from spreading, and since we have been urging people to wear masks to stop the spread of corona and save lives, it should become a normalized facet of our culture if we care about saving lives due to illnesses whose spread can be neutered if majority of the public wore masks at all times.

looks like I lost track of the decimal somehow in #15, or fat-fingered the calculator. Oops.

subtract the chances from 1, multiply, then subtract that from 1.
1 - 0.9 = 0.1
1 - 0.95 = 0.05

0.1 x 0.05 = 0.005

1 - 0.005 = 0.995 = 99.5%

Also about 1/5 are hospitalized and the majority of people hospitilalized for covid have a mid-long term side effects from Covid/Hospitilzation such as Brain Fog, lose of smell, fatigue, C Diff infection etc.

In addition a decent chunk of those are ICU and the majority of people who end up in ICU have a mid-long term term disability or condition as a result. Organ damage, muscle atrophy, Coma, Insomnia, PTSD, etc.

Finally even among those who don't get hospitalized mid to long term brain fog, impaired smell, fatigue etc are fairly common.
