This. Even if you aren't in a gang ridden suburb and are just at the wrong place at the wrong time you're target practice. Lot's of heartless bastards out there who value revenge, sick, sadistic entertainment, and clout chasing over human lives. Back in the early 90s my mom was driving from Chicago, IL back on the way home to IN when some sick fucker drove up to side of our vehicle and pulled out a handgun, aimed it, and was trying to get her to pull over, probably to rob her and possibly steal the car. I was a little kid so I don't remember it as well as I could have besides that and my mom's screams of terror and her pushing me down from the seat towards the floor to prevent me from potentially getting shot while attempting to drive off and escape and yelling at my siblings to get down as well. The guy shot out a window and thankfully none of us got hit before he took off. Mom talked to the cops about it and was understandably shaken up about it. Don't know if they ever caught the psycho though.
