It just suddenly gave immense firepower in the tank for both extreme and moderate right-wing groups to now lambast liberals for. FOX was actually turning on Trump until the twitter ban happened. Now they're back, 100% supporting Trump. Republican politicians everywhere are screaming out free speech suppression. The right-wing is united once more. And the divide from left-wing, even greater, once more.

Conservatives are all decrying the ban obviously. Yes, it's not against the 1st Amendment but I'm pretty sure we can all agree how it's a classic example of showing how powerful media giants are in censoring whatever they want for political agendas

Dems should have just left the Capitol storming as it is and focused all attacks on the event. It' was already making Republicans guilty AF and actually about to support the Dems.

The twitter ban just reversed the whole effect back to square zero

Trump did backtrack and tell the supporters off in the end. Yeah, he instigated it but he wasn't trying to press with it. You can tell Trump also realized he screwed up in the last minute.

Should have let him dwell on that guilt all the way. Not worsen it further

It only took his tweets being deleted for him to figure it out. Not the deaths, not the violence, not the bombs, but his Twitter account.

It seems petty, but when you realize this is the biggest means of Trump communicating to the people he riles up it starts to make a lot more sense. This isn't just taking a toy from him to punish him, it takes a tool away from him. Imagine if he didn't tweet endlessly about the election being stolen from him, maybe less people show up to that mob? It's his biggest tool to communicate to there people. The good outweighs the bad.

We should have to tolerate Trump's hateful and seditious speech because if we don't it might encourage his extremist followers? The hell kind of stupid logic is this.

I think twitter could have done things slow. Give Trump a suspension first, then warn him he'll get banned if he continues spreading conspiracy crap and false information. Only then, then they ban him.

That way there's at least a defense to be made.

I'm not supporting capitalism. Capitalism can suck my fat dong.

Twitter is a private company and they did the right thing for everybody by banning Trump. He's disruptive and honestly I'm surprised it took a fucking riot in the country's capitol to do so.

If you think Trump didn't get exactly what he wanted from this, and believe that he is capable of feeling any form of guilt as a result, you are entirely naive. He's saving face on the outside and is a giddy child on the inside.

It is a good thing that the Republicans who supported Trump get punished tbh.

That doesn't mean all of them should go to jail, but everyone in Congress who voted to take the election away from Biden should lose any influence they have in Congress.

Banning Trump from Twitter actually hit him where it hurts: in his ego. I don't think that clown has a single genuine shred of remorse or shame for what happened in the Capitol -- only disappointment that his gambit failed, and fury that he's been now denied the use of Twitter as a platform to incite further attempts. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if his next phase of attack was to drop heavy hints that it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Biden didn't live to see the end of his inauguration ceremony.
