Went to the doctor yesterday over unusual abdomen pain. After the usual check up, they still couldn't figure anything out. Sent me for x-rays and said they saw some abnormalities that need to be checked better. So I have to get a CT scan tomorrow before work. I'm not looking forward to having to drink the ink/dye or whatever it is.

Also, had an appointment today for my first ever adult eye exam. Turns out I have Astigmatism and glasses would really help. I'd been a bit worried as some things I need to read at work have been blurry, and it looked like this will clear that up. I'm just not looking forward to having something else to be self conscious over, especially at work with my coworkers.

Yeah, Im getting an eye exam too, since my glasses broke and my prescription is expired by a few months. (Kaiser is weird how they do things.)

This'll be my first pair. They told me that I should always wear them, but it's not so bad that I can't go without either.

I kind of panic selected a pair though, as they were only seeing 1 person at a time and there was a line waiting to be let in. So when it was time to pick the frames I just grabbed one.

I found the dye tasted a little like orange. It's not pleasant I agree.

Turns out I have Astigmatism and glasses would really help.

That will indeed help. I probably need a eye test to see if amblyopia can be fixed in adults.

The dye isn't all that bad. CT scans are easily the most relaxed scans. Only takes like 30-45 seconds and you are in a relatively comfortable area.

Good, my parents are making a big deal out of it and saying it'll take all day. My appointment is at 10am, and I work at 3pm. So I think I'll be fine, told them that I doubt the actual scan would take more than 15-20 minutes. Glad to hear it's actually pretty quick.

I've gotten like 7 of them in the last year. The machine is a big circle and they put you on a little slideable bed thing, turn it on, slide you in, wait like literally 5-10 seconds, then slide you out. It's relatively quiet. Theres two types of contrast and it sounds like you are having at least the oral contrast. They give you a pretty large drink (like 32 oz or something) and it tastes meh but not horrible. Will probably take you 20-30 minutes to drink it all. The IV contrast if you do that is really quick, they put it in your arm while you are laying in the bed slide thing and its active within like 5 seconds. Makes you feel hot and unpleasant while it's going through your veins but it wears off real quick after the scan is over.

There's no reason it should interfere with your working later that day.

Now MRIs are the fucking annoying scans. They take a long time, are SUPER loud even through the earplugs and they shake you the whole time and it takes at least like 30 minutes, usually much longer.

I guess it's just general nervousness about visiting a new place, and what the results will be.

I remember when I got my first glasses after having a blurry vision for some time.
Everything was suddenly so sharp and clear and it blew my mind.

That dye almost made me vomit all day. Went into the Radiology place and they booted me back out to the car when they found out I had Covid last month. Just called me back for the scan, which went fine. Just waiting to hear back now.

Recently I tried getting contacts but I still struggle to put them in sometimes and I don't like the way they feel after a few hours. I was thinking about trying Lasik next. But despite all that glasses aren't bad at all. I bet you'll be a real stud wearing them

I don't think I could ever use contacts. That whole process just seem uncomfortable.

I shed so many tears the first day they were training me to wear them haha. It was so uncomfortable. Now I am used to having my fingers near my eyes but sometimes the contacts don't stick to my eyes when I try to put them in. Taking them out is easy, though.

Yep. Taking out is super easy. I always had trouble putting them in. My eye doctor gave me a tip. It was to wet my finger with the contact stuff first. It actually helped. I got better after a little while. But now, I havent done it in years...

Just got a call from the medical center. It said the CT scan didn't show anything besides a recent Covid infection. Which ended a few weeks ago. So, I guess I'm ok? Still having the new pains though, but I guess there's at least nothing obviously major going on.

They said they were sending my scans to someone else(I think the main doctor at the clinic who wasn't there today) and I'm supposed to call back at the end of the week after I finish my antibiotics and let them know if it helped.

I also ordered a back up pair of glasses today since my coverage kicked in, I get 410$ to spend on glasses every two years cause of my treaty, so I figured might as well order a back up pair in case I break the ones I have now or something

Maybe, I suppose I don't know what an ulcer would feel like. Still, it feels more like a muscle ache, but on the inside. Idk, guess I'll just talk to them later and let them know if it's still happening.

As of about 15 minutes ago, I'm officially four eyed. This is so weird. They said it'd feel like I'm being "pulled vertically" and I didn't know what that meant. Apparently it means you'll feel like you're 2 feet tall. Seriously, I feel so freaking short with these things on. I'm in the work parking lot right now, dreading going in.

Glasses arent too bad. You get use to them quick. And many people dont look that different with them on. Ive seen tons of people that actually wear glasses, but normally wear contacts. And seeing them in glasses isnt really a big deal or anything...

I know, it's just weird. Everything's distorted a bit like looking through a fishbowl. My desk looked like it's angled downward, and my computer screen larger on top than the bottom, when they're actually level and square.

Walking feels weird too. But I can see things quite a bit clearer, especially at a distance.

This'll definitely take a while. It's not so bad sitting still at my desk, but when I walk off things get a little disorienting.

I leaned over to pick something up, and thought I was gonna fall over. The floor looked like it was at a downward angle. I hope they didn't mess up my prescription, the doctor that checked my eyes didn't mention anything about vertical correction. Only the lady that gave them to me and that's what's throwing me off.

Also, I just checked, and my phone does put a beauty filter on, but only when the inner camera is on. Took another with it off.

Looks like it fixed my chapped lips and a bit of redness from my face.
