What I'm saying is an idiotic take is the idea that you can just turn the page on this kind of behavior. If you don't punish it, it's going to keep happening.

What you're calling screaming and whining ineffectually is one of the few remaining mechanisms to respond to the threat to the republic, because our state and local institutions are even worse.

It would fail but you're being overly cavalier about the consequences of inaction. Everything you're saying translates into us being a failing democracy (and I agree)
