The world is watching and probably thinking they are seeing the beginning of the end for America. Things are getting so bad, Im wondering if we can even come back from this. The worst part is that it can, and probably will, get a lot worse before it gets better. I know things have been worse than this in history but times are much different. Coming back from modern rock bottom, which probably hasnt hit yet, would be significantly more difficult

Memories are short. People will laugh now, and enemies abroad will use this as propaganda, but at the end of the day this whole administration is a tiny blip on the radar compared to significant global events.

I don't believe the election was stolen, and I only support a handful of his policies, but I understand you're incapable of processing thoughts or events without a cartoonish bad guy to make everything black and white like a sort of social safety blanket, so I'll let it slide.

The cure is giving people the critical thinking skills and education to actually be able to see through misinformation. Until that is addressed, there will always be a pathway for somebody to take advantage of the people falling prey to disinformation campaigns.

It's less the past 8 years and more the past entirety of US history. If you think the last 8 years are anything special in terms of civil unrest, you have a significant gap in your education. This year is an anomaly made significantly worse by Covid. If unemployment was still down in the low single digits most of what has happened this year in terms of unrest would have been much smaller. People are angry, but they're also out of a job and stuck at home with no way to pay their bills, and it's the combination of factors that have led to so much chaos. Once the vaccine is in place, and people are able to work again, things will settle down again.

It's not the civil unrest itself that is the issue, it's the ideological forces and political power behind it. The fascist wing of the Republican party has never held such a large amount of power and there has never been a denial of objective truth that gained this much traction.

Millions of people have lost faith in the electoral process, that's not going to just go away. I could also point out the historical parallels to other countries but y'all don't wanna hear that for some reason
