I just realized Deathstroke hasnt shown up at all. For some reason I thought he would be a recurring character.

I think you're mixing the show up with Titans. I don't think Deathstroke actually appears in the entirety of the DCAU. Not even a little cameo.

Interesting. I know hes the main baddie in Teen Titans, but I figured theyd want to pit him against Batman whenever possible.

Do they ever confront each other in any media? Aside from that awful boss battle in Arkham Knight.

He also goes by just 'Slade' in TT since they thought 'Deathstroke' was a little much for the cartoon.

He's perfect.

The show itself is as good as it gets.

Origins has a Deathstroke boss fight. There's also been like four hundred animate DC movies, I imagine they've fought in one of those.

Which is kind of funny when Robin's asking, "Who is Slade?" because he can't figure out who he is.

Ive Got Batman in My Basment was f***ing terrible.

That's usually considered to be the worst episode of the series.
What is the episode about?

IIRC Batman gets knocked out with gas, kids rescue him and hide him in the basement and then it turns into Home Alone when the villains show up.

I definitely see a lot of crossover in themes between Nolan's trilogy and B:TAS (not so much JL)

BTAS is the gold standard of DC, STAS, Batman Beyond, and the Justice League shows are all connected as is the movie "Mask of The Phantasm.

The Batman Arkham games are "dark gritty, and violent" takes inspired by the BTAS which is why they were so successful.

Many of the most popular characters in BTAS were given either new life, or were brand new so almost everything in current Batman has some link to BTAS.

^ To add to that, Bruce Timm said BTAS wouldnt exist if it wasnt for Tim Burton's Batman in 1989. A lot of things in the series were inspired by the dark tone as well as other elements.

It's always amazed me that batman the animated series was a kids show. I am 34 and watched it growing up, and watched it again recently, it's super dark, very serious, brilliantly Animated, and just plain outstanding.

A lot of people love the Tim Burton Batman films, they were my introduction to Batman even got to go to a party where they had Joker and Batman in person before they showed the movie, they were giving away the toys in a promotion. A lot of good memories of that party even though I was just a child back then.

I can't remember which episode, but the one where joker cracks Robin and makes him actually lose his mind is depressing, outstanding, and creepy. Seeing Robin do the the creepy joker laugh and batman just looks distraught is amazing.

Just recently, I (Butters) was trying to place all the episodes in chronological order, and planning on re-watching them all (skipping some of the more unnecessary episodes) at some point in that order. Anyways, I finished ordering them with 75 of the original 85 episodes + Mask of the Phantasm, Sub Zero, TNBA, and Mystery of the Batwoman. I'll post what I believe to be the definitive chronological order of Batman: TAS if anyone's interested...

I think that was the Batman Beyond movie "Return of the Joker."
