On episode 9 now. The Mr. Freeze episode has been my favorite so far. Quality writing.

Is this generally considered the best Batman animated media?

I dunno what else would come close to it. Batman Beyond, maybe? But I don't think that's on the same level.

Be sure not to skip Mask of the Phantasm. It's one of the best animated superhero movies ever and a really good batman tale all on its own

Yes.

If you're watching through the production order (as you should), you've already made it through the worst episodes. If the first one you watched was the Man-Bat episode, then that's the production order.

It's not just considered the best Batman animated media, but one of the best presentations of the character in general. But yeah... It's a great show.

didn't they also revitalize a couple villains as well, making them not corny jokes? like mr freeze and clock king? didn't really read the comics but i read that somewhere

Yes. They're also the ones that gave Riddler a suit instead of that weird-ass jumpsuit.

And then they went and gave him the jumpsuit back when they changed the artstyle. So dumb.

Im watching whatever order is on HBO Max. I think Man-Bat was second after a Catwoman episode.

I dont understand why theyre so different. I guess they didnt want to broadcast the lamer episodes first? But even then, I enjoyed Nothing to Fear and the Two Face episodes.

I watched the series last year and honestly its a bit overrated. Im watching 90s Spider-Man currently and am enjoying it a lot more.

Season 1 has been pretty hit-or-miss so far, mostly hit. Are the other seasons similar in quality?

Pretty much. I mean, I think that, Batman Beyond and even The Batman are fairly well done, and different takes on the lore. Even Brave and the Bold isn't terrible.

Almost Got Em is great. Its so good there's even a board game based on that episode alone.

And Riddler did wear a suit, sometimes, in the 60's Batman show.

It was an insanely influential show in general. It did for action cartoons what Nicktoons did for kids shows, and The Simpsons for animated sitcoms.

IIRC, there's some fun trivia for that one. When Batman and Bruce are fighting, you can hear Mad Hatter's theme mixed into the background.

Robins Reckoning was great. I love how that mobster shot Batman like 500 times and Batman has a limp for the rest of the episode.

My favorite episode is the Two-Face two parter. It's gut-wrenching in future episodes seeing how Harvey's fall haunts Batman so much.

They should have just split the episodes up in volumes on HBO Max like how they did on the DVDs
