I always kind of secretly hoped the 2012 one was true because I have always liked the Maya civilization.

We don't know that it wasn't true. You should look into the actual "prophecy" because it has nothing to do with the apocalypse. It's not even a prophecy, no one ever predicted anything.

12/21/2012 fo sho. Mostly because it was at the right point in my life that I could get into it. History channel aired all sorts of shows in the years leading up to it. I read some books about it. It was fun to get behind (even if I secretly knew nothing was going to happen).

2012 was the last one that was fun that felt somewhat legit. Have we even had one after that? I think the next one is an asteroid in like 2038 that has a 1 in a million chance of hitting us.

The Great Rip, where the gradual acceleration of the expansion of the Universe causes literally everything to tear apart.

I also like the False Vacuum, where the Universe can suddenly and without warning shift to a difference energy state, changing the laws of physics and destroying the current universe instantly to be replaced with a new one.

I enjoyed that Harold Camping shitshow in 2011. People dumped their life savings following that asshat.
