If someone asked you to use only they/them pronouns, would you?

Scenario: Your friend tells you they're nonbinary and wants you to only use they/them pronouns. What is your response?

Yes, I'm fine with that.

Yes, though I would probably say something like "this may take some getting used to so if I slip up, don't hesitate to correct me but please be calm and respectful about it. I'll do my best as it is, but I respond explosively if people overreact to me/raise their voice/attempt to shame or anything like that, so being that way with me is literally always going to be counterproductive. If I use the wrong words, it will never be out of disrespect or lack of effort." I don't think it would happen, but they would deserve fair warning on my tendencies. I've had conversations with coworkers about nonbinary actors on shows we watch and afaik, I haven't misspoken in situations like that when there are no stakes, so when talking to the actual person, I think I would get used to it quickly and not say the wrong things.

The latter actually happened and resulted in me losing many friends. Apparently they told me but it wasnt directly so I didnt know, and they assumed I was just an asshole.

I didn't say anything at all about how not to react if I did slip up, but I actually had a similar talk with two of my friends whom have come out as transgender or non-binary recently, apologizing in advance if I did slip up and use the wrong pronouns, and making sure they knew that if it occurred, it wasn't due to a lack of respect at all. They were both very understanding, especially since they acknowledged that I'd known them under what turned out to be incorrect pretenses, so they realized that there would be a period of adjustment.

I'll do it, but probably mess up a lot. It's how they respond to me being slow to be able to do it that makes the difference. Like, I constantly mess up when talking about anything, so if you're getting irritated at that, you can go somewhere. I'm constantly working on it and there's nothing more I can do for you.

My fiancee is non-binary and uses they/them which I stick to almost all of the time apart from with my family where we've both realised they mean well but are never going to understand the concept of being non-binary. Part of the reason I've not said anything to most people IRL about my own gender identity (nb but I'm fine with him or them)

So yeah it's totally normal for me.

A friend or family member I suppose, otherwise trans men and transwomen pronouns is about the extent of my gender tolerance. And I have no problem doing so I just personally dont buy into gender fluidity.
I've interviewed (and hired) trans people just fine, so in that scenario I would use neutral pronouns if requested so as not to start a bunch of drama and get through the interview. It's literally never happened (gender fluid person) though out o hundreds of interviews.

I don't understand how it would ever come up in a one on one conversation honestly.

Like if I was asking someone to hang out I'd say "Hey, do you want to hang out?" I don't see how a pronoun would ever be necessary.
