Poll of the Day > So, how long is mail supposed to take right now?

We sent out our holiday cards around Dec. 15. As of today, none of them have arrived. This is worrying, considering there's like $150 in gift cards in said cards.
Just curious if this is "normal" right now.
I know USPS has unprecedented delays, but according to their own website, letters are considered late after 5 days, and this has been over 2 weeks at this point.
From what I've read, if the mailed gift cards are "lost" (ie, stolen), I'm just shit out of luck.
If they turn up in a few days, I don't care about the delayed delivery. But I'm getting concerned if it's ever arriving.

In my experience crazy stuff happens at the post office when they get swamped. Earlier this year I had multiple packages that were addressed to other local businesses get misrouted to an entirely different state, it took them weeks to arrive. Over 2 weeks is definitely unusual, but these are unusual times and I'm sure some stuff got delayed that much this holiday season.

Holidays always cause issues, and there's a pandemic on top of it causing short staffing. Every call I get at work is 'I ordered my checks/card/statement copy two weeks ago and it's not here yet'. It's annoying af

Well, put in an inquiry on the USPS website. Doubt it'll do shit.
had a package coming w/ tracking info a few years ago that was "delivered" but never arrived. Pretty sure the carrier put the key in the wrong cluster box. Wasn't even upset at them at first, mistakes happen. Then weeks of giving me the run around, making me wait on hold for half an hour each time only to say I need to call back at [some other specific time that they would then also give me the same act], until I gave up.
This is a bunch of letters w/ no tracking info to even leverage against them....
