I mean... the overall message is fine... they just couldve done a better job explaining why staying was a bad thing... yes you should face reality and problems that swing your way. But in a lot of ways I could see why people wanted to stay.

Also FFTA's Ivalice kind of sucked major ass for a lot of other people. Like, the bullies from the beginning of the game are horrible zombie monsters in Ivalice lol. It was really only a fantasy dream world for the central characters not named Marche.

I remember this guy arguing with me saying that it wasn't a fantasy world. It was a real place, only the cast was transported there.

I would kill for a new Tactics / Tactics Advance entry on the Switch, personally. Tactics A2's story was abysmally bad and it made some changes to the gameplay formula that I hated (like no more random / wandering battles), but I'd still gobble up a new entry because I enjoy the general combat and gameplay structure so much.

There's a part in one of the Dragon Age novels that always bugged me, where a party of heroes are traveling through the toxic, monster infested Deep Roads and get buttfucked by a demon who traps them in the fade, each one stuck in a nightmare or a dream tailored to make them remain forever

And the main character saves everyone. Except for one gay guy who is like "I don't want to return to reality, I want to stay in dreamland with my dead husband even though the demon will eat my soul."

And everyone gets all phillosphical and goes "Well okay then, to each his own." and just wander off.

Except... No. He's abandoning all his friends. In the real world they're all still in the Deep Roads facing danger and not one person points out what a selfish prick the dude is being by abdandoning them in their time of need to fart about in a dreamworld.

I don't think the author intended it but that guy was an egotysical asshole.

The thought experiment works in a vacuum but in that specific plot, it would be like if Sam abandoned Frodo at Mordor to live in a dream land where he fucks barmaids all day while in reality Shelob eats his face.
